Located on the fourth parallel, north of the border with Congo, and crossed by the tributaries of the Lobaye, Serve and Bodingué, the forest of Ngotto covers an area of 8 250 km ² of dense forest. Ngotto forest belongs to the ECOFAC project, which works on other sites in the RCA to ensure its conservation. Ngotto is one of the most northerly points of the massif Massif in Central Africa, since many savannah areas are beginning to emerge, «brittle» this exclusively forest link. Ngotto is sparsely populated and it is not the Pygmies who are living in hunting and hunting. There are two seasons in Ngotto: a rainy season beginning in March/April to finish in October/November with a maximum rainfall in August/September; a dry season from November to February/March during which it is possible to observe the flowering of trees in the forest. Among the trees in Ngotto, the mukulungu is found. It is a large wet forest tree that is 50 m high and 180 cm in diameter. Its fruit is a bay, yellow pulp. It should also be noted that pousse, which is up to 50 m high and 200 cm in diameter, gives false green fruits.
