A true institution in Bangui, the Centre's hotel is the point of fall for all travellers on mission and other businessmen. Its central location and ease of access, just a few feet from KP 0, make its strategic position. Its 72 rooms, spread over two floors, surround a beautiful oval swimming pool in the middle of a lush tropical garden. The rooms are correct, but the carpet and bathrooms are getting older. The service, professional, dedicated and available, makes it possible to feel comfortable in this aging structure, but clean and always comfortable. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV and international telephone. Sometimes available in the lobby, close to the restaurant (breakfast from 6 am to 10 pm) and bar. The reception changes the euro without commission.

Après le fermeture de l'OUBANGUI (ex Sofitel du Groupe Accor), l'Hôtel du Centre (HC) fut longtemps le point de ralliement de toute la clientèle huppée. Les équipages d'Air France étaient reçus en priorité sur les autres clients. Mais ça, c'était avant. Avant l'ouverture de l'Hôtel LEDGER qui est désormais le nec plus ultra. Cependant, je confesse un véritable attrait pour l'HC. Il se dégage des lieux une forme de séduction, de parfum nostalgique, auquel les vieux routiers de l'Afrique ne seront pas insensibles. Malgré les conditions pénibles de mon dernier séjour (climatisation erratique, hygiène douteuse, incessantes coupures d'électricité, pseudo-télévision), je conseille cet hôtel dont la piscine est agréable, la position géographique idéale. Les travaux de réfection qui étaient en cours doivent être terminés. Le rapport qualité prix est bon. Tout devrait donc aller pour le mieux !!!
