The circuit of the thousand lakes is a popular, rather moderate hike. As its name indicates, the trail leads to a large number of high altitude lakes. The trek leads to the ridge and through the prairies and a pass 4 240 m. Day 1: Geynikha - Gur (3 350 m). 5 km and 4 hours walk. It is in a landscape where the trek begins to flourish. 2 hours of gradual climb reveals the beauty of the landscapes. Day 2: Gur - Labatamba (4 300 m). 12 km and 5 hours walk. The walk continues on the hill, on the ridges, in the middle of the flowers of the fields, the day will be a country of land. You will notice the spectacular chain of Dagala, the meadows and in the passage of the pass to 4 240 m.Day 3: . Excursion day near the lakes.Day 4: Labatamba - Pankisi (4 000 m). 8 km and 4 hours walk. 20 to 30 min of slope you will be échaufferont for a long descent along the valley. You will have very beautiful views of the West Himalaya. Hiking will make you cross the meadows and walk through lakes.Day 5: Pankisi - Talakha (3 080 m). 8 km and 4 hours walk. About 1 hours of gradual ascent leads to Dagala, where the view at Thimphu is spectacular. Day 6: Talakha - Thimphu. 3 km and 3 hours walk. A last passage through an Alpine forest, through apple orchards, and you will arrive in Thimphu, above Simtokha Dzong. The city centre of the capital is only 20 minutes by car.
