Since the first trade exchanges in the region, Mayumba has become an important point for the transit of goods from the Kouilou valley (ivory, rubber...). In the right season, women and children pick oysters on the coast.On the road from Mighoma, a 4x4 vehicle is essential. The track is difficult to use in the rainy season. The route, very pleasant, passes through the hills of the Nyanga and the Mayornbé mountains that can be seen in the distance. At the entrance to the village of Malunga, a gigantic century-old cheese maker occupies the centre of the trail.
