This festival honours independent cinema, with a programme of screenings, workshops, meetings and concerts.

Founded in 1962, it supports independent cinema, which has earned it the nickname "European Sundance". In recent years, it has welcomed many internationally renowned independent film professionals such as Darren Aronofsky, Pedro Costa and Ulrich Seidl. Presentation of the Princess of Asturias Award, in twelve categories. In addition to the film screenings, workshops, round tables, concerts and meetings with directors will also be held.
