Building made of translucent glass cubes facing the Zurriola beach, main headquarters of the San Sebastian Film Festival
A contemporary building that continues to enrage the purists! Inaugurated in 1999, this work by the Navarrese architect Rafael Moneo was the subject of much controversy. Nothing to do, indeed, with the former Gran Kursaal of 1921, whose Belle Epoque architecture was the setting for the casino games. The "new" Kursaal is presented in the form of two translucent glass cubes in a privileged location facing the Zurriola beach. Used as a congress centre and auditorium, it is the main venue for the San Sebastián Film Festival.

Vu que de l'extérieur, le bâtiment dénote avec ceux aux alentours mais s'accorde très bien. Très photogénique.

Ce gros cube lumineux sur la plage, touche de modernité au milieu des immeubles aux belles façades en pierre, est aussi une superbe salle de concert : l'auditorium propose de nombreuses places assises (sièges de qualité), même au plus haut on y voit très bien, le son est très bon. Salle très agréable.
