TATAR BAZAR

To really get into the multicultural Astrakhan, all taste buds out. The Tatar-Bazaar is the second largest market in the city, where you can find all kinds of fresh produce and fruit and vegetables, and lots of little things to sample on the go, in the cafés or directly at the stalls. In season, you have to bite into a slice of watermelon (arbouz), which is served (but only in Astrakhan)... sprinkled with salt!

It is also a good starting point to start his visit of the south of the city, in the old Tatar suburbs absolutely superb.
