The ruins of Nakijin Castle are one of the castles of the Ryukyu Kingdom, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Unlike other castles in Okinawa, Nakijin Castle is located in a sparsely populated area with lush forests, which give the ruins a unique atmosphere. It was built in the late 1200s. The length of the castle wall is 1.5 kilometers, and the height is 8 meters at the highest point, making it the second largest castle after Shurijo Castle.

Magnificent ruins that offers one of the most beautiful views of the island on the ocean. Y go preferably a day's weather and not to deprive yourself of the comments of the very good guides (as without them, it is difficult to understand...) It is also possible to request a guide and hiking in the jungle that leaves the foot of the hill, passes by other still buried ruins, before arriving on the site.
