This peninsula is home to small fishing ports, including Yobuko, which has a quaint fish market. Between Yobuko and Hatomizaki are the ruins of Nagoya-jō. This is the castle from which Hideyoshi Toyotomi prepared his invasion of Korea. It is also a Saga area suitable for exploring the rice terraces, which face the sea, such as those in Hamanoura. At the beginning of May, during the rice planting period, the setting sun colours the surface of the ocean and the rice fields orange. The atmosphere becomes absolutely fantastic. It is an image that you will keep in your mind for a long time.
