HAPPO-O-NE

In winter, the resort sees skiers from Tōkyō, those from Nagoya and the towns surrounding Chūbu province arrive. Here you are just 5 minutes from Hakuba Station and a 10-minute walk from the cable car. From the summit, two chairlifts start you on an hour-long hike that takes you to a pond at the foot of Mount Karamatsu-dake (2,696m). Take the trail up to Mount Maru-yama to reach the hut (Karamatsu-dake San-sō), the base of the last stretch of trail to Karamatsu-dake.
