The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge connects Kōbe to Awaji Island. It is the longest span bridge in the world. The visit is by reservation only. After a brief reminder of the safety instructions, a film (in Japanese with English subtitles) explaining the stages of construction of the bridge is shown. Then, after a visit to the museum with a wealth of information about the bridge, we set off to explore it. We then climb to the very top of the bridge to enjoy a magnificent view of the surroundings and walk the structure on the maintenance paths.
