Church with an exceptional panoramic view
Icon of Tropea, this church hanging on its rock, and overlooking the cove of Mar Piccolo, is the first monument that you see when you arrive. It was certainly founded by hermits in the Byzantine period, and is known to have been a Benedictine sanctuary during the medieval era. It is especially for the view it offers that one climbs the steps up to Sainte-Marie de l'Ile. The panorama is exceptional, especially at sunset.
