COLLEGIATA SANTA MARIA DELLA MADDALENA

Majestic baroque church with an interior rich in works of art, including paintings by the Neapolitan Antonio Sarnelli (1712-1800) and a statue of the Madonna degli angeli (1505) by Antonello Gagini, a member of a dynasty of Genoese artists who brought the Renaissance style to southern Italy. The major masterpiece of this church is the polyptych of the high altar, dated and signed by Bartolomeo Vivarini (1477), an important Venetian painter of the 15th century.
