This building, dating from 1776, is one of the most beautiful examples of colonial architecture
Wide patios and a baroque façade make this building, dating from 1776, one of the most beautiful examples of colonial architecture. The Tribunal of the Inquisition worked from 1610 until the Independence of Colombia. It was here that the perpetrators of crimes against the Christian faith were sentenced. The museum displays a torture chamber, symbolic objects from the colonial era and the independence struggle, and the different stages of the foundation of the city of Cartagena.
