Public transportation is not very common, and the majority of Puerto Ricans use their personal vehicles. However, the bus remains the most economical way to travel around the island. The buses are Ford minibuses with a capacity of 12-15 passengers. The Públicos operate on defined routes, but stop a lot and you will have to wait until the vehicle is full to leave. For the most popular routes, go to the bus station early in the morning.
