PLAZA INDEPENDENCIA - MONUMENTO A CRISTÓBAL COLÓN

In its center is the monument of Cristóbal Colón, which was inaugurated in 1892, containing a globe filled with messages, newspapers and testimonies left by the inhabitants, with the aim that future generations could discover them one hundred years later. In 1992, in accordance with tradition, the globe was opened to add new documents, which will be unveiled in 2092. The contents of the globe are on display at the Casa de Rivera Museum.
