HISTORICAL MUSEUM

The museum presents the history of the city from its foundation to the present day, through an impressive collection of coins and valuable objects. It includes a remarkable numismatic collection as well as weapons and sculptures. The museum building is very important from a historical and architectural point of view, since in 1911 it served as the headquarters of the Colegio del Huerto, a congregation of nuns. In 1988, the building was officially recognized as a Monumento Histórico Nacional and was converted into a museum the following year.
