The Metropolitan Transportation System, called STM, is the public transportation system of Montevideo and its region. To use it, you need an STM bus pass, which you can obtain free of charge by presenting your passport at any of the points of sale listed on the map at the following website: www.montevideo.gub.uy/locales-stm.
