Very well equipped campsites and beautiful cottages for a night on the red lands of Namibia. This guest farm offers a wide range of accommodation - from the most rudimentary to the most comfortable - and a vast array of activities: hiking and horseback riding, climbing, discovering rock paintings, stargazing... The landscapes are splendid and the place even offers the possibility to buy meat at the farm for the evening Braii: local is lekker (local is cool), as we say in Afrikaans!

Ein unvergesslicher Urlaub , das Team um Herrn Izko hat sich super um uns gekümmert. Ein unvergesslicher erster Trip nach Afrika/Namibia mit wunderbaren Eindrücken aus der Natur ! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. So ein Camp erwartet an dieser Stelle niemand. Einfach ein Traum.

Schöne, großzügige Campsite im schönsten Nirgendwo. Schon allein die Anfahrt durch die Tiras-Landschaft ist unglaublich. Vor Ort ist eher relaxen und genießen angesagt, es gibt einen kurzen Rundwanderweg und einen Viewpoint, man kann die Farm anschauen (unglaublich viele verschiedene Tiere) und mit der sehr netten Besitzerin schwätzen. Sie verkauft unter anderem selbst erlegtes und fein mariniertes Oryx (für Fleischesser ein Genuss und alles andere als Massentierhaltung). Den Pool der Lodge kann man gegen eine kleine Gebühr mitbenutzen. WLAN gibt es dort auch. Der Sternenhimmel, die Berge und die Ruhe sind der Hammer. Das Camping sollte man bar zahlen (sonst 5% Aufschlag und alte Kreditzahlung per Papierquittung).

Wunderbare Campsite inmitten der Tirasberge. Schon die Anfahrt war ein Traum. Die Landschaft war atemberaubend im Nachmittagslicht. Die Campsite liegt auf einer echten Namibischen Farm mit Geflügel-, Rinder- und Straußenzucht. Sehr authentisch mit einer freundlichen und aufgeschlossenen Besitzerin, die gerne Auskunft über das Farmleben gibt. Es gibt 5 Campsites und wir hatten die Nummer 4 mit eigenem Bad und Dusche. Der Sternenhimmel war unbeschreiblich und tagsüber konnte man gegen eine kleine Gebühr den Pool der gegenüberliegenden Lodge benutzen. Wir wollten eigentlich auf einer anderen Farm übernachten, die aber glücklicherweise ausgebucht war, sonst hätten wir dieses Juwel wohl nie gefunden. Wir waren 2 Nächte und hätten noch länger bleiben wollen…

Nous étions pour 3 nuits à la villa Schwalbennest. Une petite maison dans la roche. Très bien équipée. Mais c'est surtout le cadre qui est magnifique. Une impression d'être seul au monde, tout en n'étant pas loin de l'accueil. Ballades à faire sur les collines.

The bathroom is clean with two solar heated showers. Each campsite is equipped with a table, benches, cover, braai, and water.
We stayed for two nights, but in hindsight three would have been better. We were exhausted after the long drive there and didn't go out to explore the following day, instead lounging about our campsite chilling and enjoying the views.
The area is worth taking the time and effort to get there. The D707 is beautiful. It is also tricky at sunset. It is very sandy and with a heavy trailer and the sun right in your eyes it makes for interesting driving. Plan accordingly and arrive closer to 3 pm to take in the beautiful surroundings.
