Owner's Message
Fish River Lodge - on the edge of eternity. The unique landscape inspired the Lodge's contemporary design. Dry stone walls, tall windows and wrap-around decks prioritize the canyon views.
A ledge pool offering cool comfort in the hot summer months also overlooks the canyon, while the crackling fireplaces in the main lodge provide warmth and comfort in winter. A platform outside each lodge allows for outdoor yoga, and the clerestory windows frame a myriad of stars at night.
The 45,000-hectare canyon nature park is a sanctuary for succulent Karoo flora where the Aloe dichotoma, known locally as Kokerboom, stands sentinel and wildlife, including the rare Hartman's zebra, oryx antelope and ostriches, appear and disappear in the rocky canyons.
Fish River Canyon is one of the best hiking destinations in the world. With access to the Fish River and winding trails along the canyon rim, we offer a multitude of guided and unguided adventure activities. These include hiking, biking and canyon walks to experience the beauty, grandeur and serenity of Fish River Canyon.
