HAKOS GUEST FARM

This farm dedicated to astronomy, lost in the middle of nowhere, is located in the southwest of the Namibian capital. J. Walter Straube, Waltraud Eppelmann and Friedhelm Hund, who manage the site, are there to host the astronomer and help him in the use of the equipment and in the discovery of the southern sky. This farm has 14 well-equipped rooms (WC and shower). Meals can be included in the package according to the chosen benefit. By the way, why Hakos' name? The Hakos are a mountain range of more than 2,000 m above sea level. Besides the fact that this nearby natural barrier positively influences cloudy coverage, it also offers a quite exceptional playground for quality excursions. Several observatories are available to amateurs… But we will not hide from you that the place is more suitable for knowledgeable enthusiasts who come to rent observation and observation time, under an exceptional sky and with equipment that is not less, rather than to travelers who simply want to spend a pleasant night of observation, without any other conditions.
