Located 180 km north of Gouré, Tasker is reached by a track set in the sand. This administrative post is lost in a semi-desert steppes area and wide dunes and is only connected by military radio. It is the only administrative representation, with N'Gourti, of this vast area of pastoral nomadism. Toubou and Arabs and, to a lesser extent, Tuareg circulate it according to the pastures and traditional wells of wood or cemented. It is a post of administrative formalities before joining the Termit massif 120 km north.
