The district of Dakoro is crossed from east to west by two large valleys, the Goulbi N'Kaba to the south of Kornaka, where many ouadi palms are grown, and the valley of Tarka, coming from Tahoua, wooded with acacias and balanites. This area, which is quite broad, includes that of the crops in rain inhabited by the hausa growers, and the nomadic area shared by Tuareg and Fulani Bororo. Also on Friday, market day, the meeting between these different cultures gives diversity and richness to the weekly event of the village that attracts the world from a very far away. It contains everything the nomads need and sometimes small, dried land toys full of freshness and naivety made by children. The buildings in the sub-prefecture and the sub-prefect's residence are colonial architecture and are worth a look inside. The craft centre is very active, many Tuareg craftsmen work money and wood for example making Tuareg beds very fashionable in Niamey among Niger women in fashion (counting between CFAF 250 000 and 500 000 for decorated bed and braided mats of leather and stems that are raised).
