ART SALON

One of the first art galleries in Azerbaijan to open after independence, it has a very beautiful space in a former residence in the old city. Inside, it is a real Ali Baba cave, with many carpets of various origins and qualities. A superb silk carpet from Sheki is next to another from Qom, Tabriz' creations in sheep's or lamb's wool show beautiful natural colours while a few small prayer rugs may be suitable for more limited budgets. There are also many copper pieces, including samovars, as well as paintings by contemporary artists.
