MARAKANDA TRAVEL is a French-speaking incoming travel agency based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and operating under the license of the Ministry of Tourism. Founded in 2006 by French speaking professionals with years of experience in tourism, teaching and interpreting.
We create our own tours through Uzbekistan, with the possibility of extension to neighboring countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, the main axis of the Silk Road, to which we can add the western part of China with the Xinjiang region up to Kashgar.
We can also take care of specialized travelers such as thematic trips (Culinary traditions, Botanical excursion, Agricultural stay, Bird watching etc..), balanced ecotourism and active trips (bicycle tours, discovery of beautiful villages, horseback riding in the mountains, tours to the Aral Sea by 4x4 etc.)
"Marakanda Travel", put together a fabulous tour of Uzbekistan for us and their local knowledge proved to be a huge bonus. For example, we took a 40 minutes flight from Tashkent to Khiva. Other travellers we met in our hotel had done an 8 hour, uncomfortable road transfer with nowhere to buy food or drinks en route. All the suggestions made to us by MT added up to the best possible tour we could have wished for. Their communication was excellent, there were no language problems whatsoever and they couldn't have been more helpful. Our guides, drivers and tours were excellent.
