Located 25 km from Xitole, Saltinho Falls are actually more rapids than waterfalls. Worth the detour, the place remains a pristine paradise. On the road to Buba, you'll find a bridge built by the Portuguese in the 1960s that spans the Rio Corubal. Today, it is a meeting place for women who come here to wash and dry their clothes. Just before, take the track towards Cusselinta and straight on to the rapids. You can spend the night on the banks of the Corubal River, in an old barracks converted into a pousada. This inn is not very well maintained, but will do for one night.
