The church was built in the 15th century and remodeled in the 17th century. It underwent a number of changes: from the very beginning of its construction, it served as a Dominican church for Catholics, then from the 16th century for Evangelicals, until Catholics returned to it after the Second World War. For a time, it was also used by Greek Catholics, who recently moved their place of worship to ul. Jaracz. The Kashubian minority also come here to worship and pray once a month.
