The Basilian Church of the Holy Cross is located on Nowy Świat, the main street leading to the old town, its castle and ramparts. This religious building is emblematic. Built between 1679 and 1696, it is an impressive example of Ukrainian Baroque architecture, characterized by its onion-shaped domes and elaborate ornamentation. Its interior is equally remarkable, adorned with colorful frescoes and detailed carvings. This church is a place of worship and a historic landmark in the heart of the city.

Pas loin de statue de Copernic on trouve cette église de style baroque, à l'intérieur et dans l'un des piliers on trouve le cœur de Chopin ! A visiter absolument.

Le coeur de Chopin
Après avoir visité la maison natale de Frédéric Chopin, à une cinquantaine de kilomètres de Varsovie et vu sa tombe au cimetière du Père Lachaise à Paris, voici un autre endroit qui nous lie avec le célèbre compositeur Polonais. Dans cette église, se trouve le coeur de Chopin, préservé depuis 168 ans dans un flacon de cristal rempli d'un liquide de conservation.
