COOPERATIVA LA SEMILLA DE DIOS
Founded in August 1977 by the painter Fernando Llort, the La Semilla de Dios cooperative has as its main objective to be a source of revenue by creating work for all those who belong to the cooperative. The majority of these families depend on the work provided by the cooperative and its sales. Everything is created, realized (menuiserie) and painted by hand by the inhabitants of La Palma who were trained according to the artistic techniques of Fernando Llort. Beyond the financial aspect, the cooperative wishes to be a cultural reference by promoting the art of Fernando Llort and the creativity of El Salvador in the world. Handcrafted objects represent the moments of life in La Palma as well as religious symbols. Above all, they have a decorative and educational purpose. The cooperative exports its artisanal products, furniture and objects engraved and painted - such as crosses, coffrets, Christmas decorations - in Canada, the United States, Guatemala and Europe (Austria, Spain, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom).
During your visit you can see how objects are made, from carpentry by men to painting by women. Last passage in the souvenir shop.
