Travel Guide Gouraye

A difficult and long track of 40 km leads you to Gouraye, a town bordering Senegal. This area, the middle valley of the Senegal River, includes the regions of Guidimakha (Mauritania), Bakel (Senegal) and Kayes (Mali). In the region there are still elephants, some even claim to have heard lions roaring... An information to be taken with the conditional! The cultural richness of the region on the other hand is undeniable: wrestling matches, dances and music from the Pulaar, Soninke, Moorish or Wolof communities, dugout races...
