About 50 km north of Mandalay, on the bank of the Irrawady river, the small village of Kyauk Myaung is especially famous for its pottery. Just like his colleague Yandabo where we also stopped. These two "master potters", experts in their field, supply the whole country with pottery, transported by boat by the river. Walking through its earthy streets, there are many workshops where visitors are welcome. Discover the local know-how. From Mandalay, the boats going to Katha stop most of the time at Kyauk Myaung. Be careful, however, the schedules and frequency vary according to the season. It is also possible to go there by bus, but count 2h30 of journey and 3 000 kyats. The boat trip along the Irrawaddy River and the arrival by the river bank certainly add to the charm of the excursion
