A pleasant town of 100,000 inhabitants located on the eastern banks of the Zambezi, Senanga stretches along the length of the river and marks for the traveler coming from Sesheke or Mongu, the return to civilization, with the possibility of restocking on fuel and food. Few tourists here of course. To get there from the south, you have to take the road from Sioma (1h30 drive for 70 km) and cross the bridge over the Zambezi at the town of Kalangola. Senanga is about 120 km from Sioma Ngwezi National Park and about 80 km from Ngonye Falls and marks the southern limit of the Barotse floodplains.
