Zambia's rail network is not well developed and trains are slower than buses, but the experience is worthwhile. The Zambezi Express, which ran twice a week from Lusaka to Livingstone via Choma, has been discontinued. The "Zambezi Train" runs twice a week from Livingstone to Lusaka to Kitwe. Schedules seem to be quite changeable, so it is best to check with Zambia Railways in advance. Finally, the "Tazara" train to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania leaves from Kapiri Mposhi, 200 km north of Lusaka.
