NEW PLACE (NEUER PLATZ)

Dating from 1518, this square aligns the houses of the 16th and 17th centuries, with beautiful inner courtyards. In the centre, the Dragon Fountain (1636) is dominated by the Lindwurm dragon, the town's emblem. At No. 2, a house built from the stones of the oldest city walls, originally a guardhouse in the Napoleonic era, it became a police station. At no. 9, an old pharmacy whose main room dates from the 16th century. At no. 13: the Porcia Palace, late Baroque.
