BLACK LAKE (SCHWARZSEE)

This lake has contributed to the development of Kitzbühel as a health resort. Located 2.5 km north of the town, it covers 8 hectares and is 8 metres deep. Swimming and water sports in summer, curling, skating and hockey in winter. Its name (literally the black lake) comes from the fact that it is a swampy type of lake but in which you can nevertheless swim! In summer, the water temperature can reach 27 degrees. Very bucolic setting (bring your sandwich!), idyllic enough for a family or romantic stroll.
