The town hall houses a work by sculptor Franz Roilo in memory of Franz Reisch, ski pioneer and mayor.
Kitzbühel was granted town status by Ludwig II in 1271. The building, dating from 1531, was converted into a town hall in 1548. The Neutor (today called Kirchberger Tor) was built around 1840. Around 1954 the building was constructed as it is today. Near the entrance there is a work by the sculptor Franz Roilo in memory of Franz Reisch, ski pioneer and mayor, who founded the city's winter sports in 1892-1893. The visit is not exceptional in itself, but the place is nevertheless full of history.
