The monumental ruins of a typical castle, with its corner towers and notched round tower, dominate the landscape overlooking the listed town of Spitz an der Donau and the Danube. All that remains of the defensive fortress of Hinterhaus, whose existence is already mentioned in 1243, are these ruins. It's a popular destination for medieval history buffs, not least for its panoramic views of the Danube and surrounding area.
