GIARDINO DELLA MINERVA

The Garden of the Minerva is located high up in the old town of Salerno. It is a small corner of paradise and calm, made up of terraces, gardens and fountains that overlook the city and offer a panoramic view of the Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. The Silvatico family has owned the garden since the 12th century, when it was dedicated to the studies of the medical school of Salerno. Historical documents show that it was the first botanical garden in Europe for the use of plants for therapeutic purposes.
