In a pretty area of the centre, a few steps from the banks of the Mincio, there is a friendly bistro with colourful tones where you can taste local specialities. It takes its name from Fragoletta, a theatre actress and good cook who used to receive her admirers here in the 18th century. On the menu there is an appetizing choice: pike in anchovy and vegetable sauce with polenta, ravioli with pumpkin butter and sage, horse stew with red wine and a beautiful platter of local cheeses accompanied by the unavoidable mostarda with candied fruit. Tiramisu and sbrisolona for dessert.

Osteria un po’ dimessa. A mio parere m, cucina non all’altezza della qualità attesa. Le tronfie con tonno erano un po’ salate, con un tonno stoppaccioso e mal aggregato con il resto della salsa. Le fettuccine al ragù di gallina erano altrettanto salate. Nell’antipasto, uovo in camicia con crema di asparagi, gli ingredienti erano accoppiati senza grande perizia. Piatto da dimenticare. La carne di manzo era accompagnata a patate arrosto completamente bruciate. Prezzi nella norma. Servizio rapido e cortese.

L'osteria non è centralissima ma comunque a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro turistico di Mantova. Personale cordiale e buon servizio. Buoni i piatti che abbiamo ordinato. Prezzi sopra la media delle "normali" osterie.

Davvero ottimo, materia prima di qualità, salumi locali spettacolari. I primi scelti impeccabili ben equilibrati e porzioni generose. Ottima scelta di vini e un ambiente pulito e sereno, ottimo anche per pranzi e cene intimi.
