The first regional park in Italy, created in 1974, the Lombardy Park of Ticino is exemplary! It is one of the largest protected natural areas in the region. It was created to fight against the onslaught of industrialization and suburbanization, with the idea of protecting the river and the many natural environments of the Ticino Valley in a sustainable manner. Between Abbiategrasso and Pavia, the river route has been restored respecting the hydrobiological balance of the soil, preserving peasant agriculture. With its bicycle paths and footpaths, this park is perfect for a stroll easily accessible by road.
