STRAKONICE CASTLE (STRAKONICKÝ HRAD)

Located on the banks of the Otava River, between the castles on the Vltava and the first hills of the Šumava Mountains, this building was built by the Bavor family in the early 13th century and was later transformed according to architectural trends. It is distinguished by its beautiful dark stone tower, the so-called Rumpál tower, which contrasts with the pretty white house and the church of St. Prokop that border it. During the reconstruction phase, performances and concerts are held in season in front of the walls.
