MUSEO DE ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO DE ALICANTE

Opposite the Basilica of Santa María, this museum of contemporary art (MACA) is housed in a baroque-style building dating from 1685 and occupying one block. It has had other uses before becoming a museum, a granary and then a business school. Today it houses a fine collection of 20th century paintings and sculptures by contemporary Spanish and foreign artists: Miró, Chillida, Calder, Dalí, Tapiès, etc.
