PALAZZO DUCALE

Erigé on the ruins of a medieval castle, the Ducal Palace of Jelsi was built by Giovanni Pinabello in the first half of the sixteenth century. He remained property of the Carafa family until 1957. Formerly with a lift bridge, the palace coincides with the fortified walls of the old medieval village. In the adjacent chapel of Santa Maria dell 'Annunziata, one can admire a crypt containing frescoes of the xiiith century.
