CATTEDRALE DI SANTA MARIA ASSUNTA

The cathedral, declared a minor basilica in 1964, was built on the remains of a ^ninth century church, itself built on the foundations of ancient Roman baths. The rectangular facade is embellished with a portal in Gothic style, made by Maestro Rainaldo. Inside, with three naves, columns covered with frescoes (^15th century) made by Andrea de Litio. Note also the monumental organ composed of 6,000 pipes, making it the largest in Abruzzo.
