Archaeological site located in front of the sea, between the promontory of Piombino and the coast of the Gulf of Baratti in Populonia.

This archaeological site extends over 80 hectares, facing the sea, between the promontory of Piombino and the coast of the Gulf of Baratti. The Etruscan necropolis reveals, among other things, well tombs (7th-6th centuries BC), but also the acropolis and monastery of San Quirico, remains of the ancient Etruscan city of Populonia. The educational panels help visitors to find their way along the routes that line this former great metalliferous centre of Etruria.
