Take a marble quarry tour with official tour guide Marco Bernacca, whose family has worked in quarry(cava)no. 177 for four generations. He'll tell you all about the history of marble, from the Romans to the middle of the last century. Then, as the tour moves on to the quarrying heartland, you'll be able to observe new cutting techniques, machines and interact with the environment. A private tour is available, plus a 4x4 ride along the old marble railroad.
