Manor house representing one of the rare testimonies of fortifications for the security of a lake port.

A powerful 13th century manor house surrounded by water, it was built by Mastino I of the Della Scala family, lords of Verona. Very well preserved, it represents one of the rare examples of a fortress designed to ensure the security of a lake port. From the top of the crenellated walls, you can see the dock, the former shelter of the Scaligeri fleet. Over the centuries it has become a neuralgic bastion of control for navigation on Lake Garda. A drawbridge gives access to a vaulted portico where Roman and medieval steles are displayed.

Sirmione est une ville très agréable au bord du Lac de Garde. La promenade dans les fortifications est très agréable et intéresse les enfants. Au bord du lac il y a de nombreux restaurants.
