ASCENSION DES SOMMETS OCCIDENTAUX DU MONT ROSE

The access route to Monte Rosa on the Ayas side passes through the Mezzalama (3,004 m) and Guides d'Ayas (3,420 m) refuges, in a panoramic position on a rocky ridge in the middle of the Verraz glacier. Classic routes include the ascent of the 3 Breithorns (4,164 m), Pollux (4,092 m), Castor (4,228 m) and the traverse to the Lyskamm (4,527 m). The normal routes to these summits - with the exception of the Lyskamm - are considered to be accessible itineraries.
