MUSÉE DE KRATOVO

Founded in 1993, this museum (Музеј На Град Кратово) is worth most of all for the beautiful Ottoman house that houses it above the Kratovska River. Inside, the two exhibition halls really make it hard to see with four tiny collections of archaeology, numismatics, ethnology and history. Almost no explanations in the showcases and nothing in English. Right next door, on the other hand, one can enter the ashlar corridors of the former prison built in the ^16th century, and then walk along the river under the Grofčanski Bridge.
