POTERIE DE GABREVCI

This workshop (Грнчарски Производи Габревци/Grnčarski Proizvodi Gabrevci) offers hand-kneaded and kiln-fired clay pots or jugs in the old fashioned way. It is run by Velin Manasiev. He has passed the age of retirement and is the last potter of Gabrevci (220 inhabitants, all Macedonians). In the village, in the past, almost every family made pottery. This is an old tradition, since in 2008 a grave from the early Roman period was discovered nearby with 130 pieces of pottery, which are now exhibited in the museum in Štip.
